Michelle Schwartz, LCSW

Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who uses her backgrounds in yoga and running to provide a space for holistic healing.

She worked as a psychotherapist at Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy from 2021-2025, serving a wide range of children, teens, and adults. For the last 8 years, she has also worked as a forensic social worker at The Legal Aid Society on an interdisciplinary attorney team in family court. She represents vulnerable New Yorkers, particularly children experiencing abuse and neglect.

In her graduate level work, Michelle supported LGBTQIA+ homeless youth with crisis interventions, risk assessments, end of life counseling, mindfulness-based counseling, and trauma-focused therapy at New Alternatives for LGBTQIA+ Homeless Youth in Manhattan.

Michelle is a yoga teacher (500 RYT) with 600+ hours of training and 10 years of experience, including a 95 hour Children’s Yoga Certificate. Michelle has taught yoga in schools, to adults with developmental and physical disabilities at AHRC NYC, and to homeless youth. She also works with brands such as On and Chelsea Piers Fitness in NYC.

Michelle is an avid marathon (2:58) and half marathon (1:23) runner who understands the mental components of endurance sports. She supports the people she works with to achieve big goals and enjoy their lives while doing it.

Michelle enjoys running all over the city (especially if it ends at 9th Street Espresso or Matchaful), traveling, gardening in her backyard, and walking through Prospect Park with her rescue dog, Millie.
